Champtires is proud to be a 2019 sponsor of Carnegie Mellon University’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Writing Awards. The writing contest, now celebrating its 20th anniversary, gives high school and college students a safe space to creatively explore their personal experiences with race and discrimination.

The awards ceremony is open to the public and a great event that brings together the Pittsburgh community. The student winners will read their essays and poetry and receive their recognition from awards founder and director — and acclaimed poet and author — Jim Daniels.
